Mechanical Assembly Technician at Volt Workforce Solutions at Schneider Electric

Volt Workforce Solutions is now a hiring Mechanical Assembly Technicians for our client, in Hopkins, SC.

What do you get to do in this position?

Mechanical Assembly Technician

An associate that assembles bus bars on switchgear units. Associate will spend majority of time standing, bending to install custom bus to customer orders

Specific duties:

-Must be able to safely operate drill press, band saw, grinders, cutters, and any other required tool needed to perform non-standard installations

-Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, blue prints, material lists, and other source material.

-Position requires lifting and holding in place assembly parts weighting up to 35 lbs. repeatedly over work period.

-Position requires periodic overtime on a short notice to meet customer service.

We will provide up to 4 weeks of training to get you on the right path! Training is held on A shift, you will then be moved to B shift or C shift. Training hours are Monday-Friday 6:00-2:30pm, C shift hours are Monday-Thursday 3:15pm-1:45am. C shift hours are Friday, Saturday and Sunday 5:00am - 5:30pm. With expected over time as needed, these hours may vary and will be give out weekly.

Qualifications:

Education:

-High School Diploma or GED

Experience:

-Able to read and understand schematics

-Troubleshooting skills

- Must have a strong focus on Safety

Must be able to pass a 7 year criminal background check and a drug screen.
