Job Description

Title: Assembler ( J-STD soldering) 

Location: Plymouth, MN

Employment Type: 12 month W-2 Contract-to-Hire

Pay Range: $20.00/hour to $24.00/hour based on experience and certifications

Summary:

A Volt Client in Plymouth, MN has an urgent need to fill two (2) full-time Assembler positions. These positions will include the build and test of production electro-mechanical assemblies. Workers will report to Eng. Supervisor and work on a team of 25. Workers will have their own operation/work bench. This position is open due to a surge of incoming work. Minimum Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in related field, Vocational Certificate and or similar Military training/certifications. 
  • 5 years of hands on manufacturing or equivalent micro-assembly experience 
  • Applicant must have basic computer skills 
  • Able to read schematics 
  • Previous experience soldering surface mount packages with the aid of a microscope
  • Also be willing to work overtime in the support of meeting critical program delivery schedules.
  • IPC J-STD-001E soldering certification.
    "J" Standard Soldering training is CRITICAL. Candidates without this training will not be considered for these positions.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Proficiency in the use of general lab equipment such as: microscopes, meters, calipers, digital scales, and computers for recording variable build data. 
  • Backgrounds in defense or medical fields are generally ideal.
  • Should be able to use equip such as microscopes for long periods of time.
