Job Description

Do you have experience drafting/designing in AutoCAD 2013 or newer using Architectural CAD package?

Do you have experience creating Proposal Drawings, or Shop Drawings, or Installation Drawings?

Then this may be the position for you!!!!

The Designer will be required to produce proposal drawings as well as installation and fabrication drawings utilizing Auto Cad 2018 from sketches and instruction given by others. This individual must possess good interpersonal and customer service skills to coordinate their work with our sales force, estimating and coordination staff. This individual will be responsible for checking their own work and other design staff projects to ensure the accuracy of their drawings. This position will be responsible for learning our complete product line and scheduling system through our internal training procedure and producing drawings in accordance with department standards.

Job Responsibilities:

•Produces proposal drawings as well as installation and fabrication drawings utilizing AutoCad from sketches and instruction given from by others.

•Checks own work and other design staff projects to ensure the accuracy of their drawings.

•Learns VWR’s complete product line and scheduling system through our internal training procedure.

•Produces drawings in accordance with department standards.

•Assists sales regularly by providing design details and criteria as requested.

•Develops resources to research all items required in our drawings to ensure that all detailed items will integrate seamlessly into the project and performs in a manner that fulfills the customer’s requested requirements.

•Maintains own project schedule and develops a plan to meet the scheduled deadlines.

Experience & Skills:

•Good interpersonal and customer service skills to coordinate their work with our sales force, estimating and coordination staff.

•Able to handle a flexible work schedule

•Excellent interpersonal skills.

•Able to communicate effectively on all levels

•Able to lead by example as well as by instruction

•Strong organizational skills

Qualifications:

•High school diploma required; Auto Cad and Architectural drafting certification from a technical college strongly preferred

•One to three years design and AutoCad experience required

•Autodesk Revit, Showcase experience is a plus.

•Good computer skills in Microsoft Office Suites

Environmental Working Conditions & Physical Effort:

•Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.

•Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems.

•A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis.

•Minimal physical effort is required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10 lbs.
