35 minute commute from Tyler, TX

Appeal: Small country town; beautiful countryside; lakes; fishing; hiking; hunting; boating; very little traffic; no hustle and bustle

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related technical degree.

Minimum 7-10 years of related automation experience with HMI, SCADA, PLC’s, and general control system design.

Experience with Allen-Bradley (Control Logix, Compact Logix) PLCs, PanelView Plus HMIs, Industrial Communication Networks (Ethernet, etc.) is required.

Packaging and process controls experience in the Consumer Products and/or life sciences industries are preferred; beverage/brewery/food experience and engineering consulting experience are a plus.

Experience with Wonderware Suite, and CX_ONE, Visual Basic/C#/Java is a plus.

This position requires the ability to successfully execute multiple project responsibilities with minimal supervision.

Candidates need to possess excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

 Familiar with automated systems such as; pick and place robots, rotation systems, vision base inspection, component assembly work cells, etc.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Read and interpret project documentation and communicate with team members and stakeholders to understand objectives and preferences.

Design, develop, and document the communication strategy between control system elements.

Work with the team members and other stakeholders to design detailed control system functionality.

Document system functionality with a controls narrative and/or a cause and effect diagrams.

Program controllers to connect with multiple I/O.

Design and develop human machine interfaces (HMI).

Design and develop control panel layouts and circuit diagrams.

Design and develop new and retrofit automated equipment in conjunction with mechanical engineers to support production.

Develop hardware and software test plans and write simulation logic for the testing of PLC and HMI systems.

Develop and execute validations (IQ/OQ/PQ) for automated systems.

Communicate and coordinate with installation team to ensure that technicians are executing per documented processes.

Coordinate the installation and commissioning of automated systems.

Test installed system to observe system functionality and ensure that the programs function as designed.

Troubleshoot problems that occur during operation; diagnose and resolve software and hardware interface issues.

Train operators on use and operation of automated systems.

Interface with manufacturers and vendors of software and application products, especially regarding component sourcing, problem diagnosis, and resolution.

Work with others to develop alternative system and software designs.

May respond to service calls to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair programming or system failures.
