Job Description

Volt has partnered with an IT Services Organization to identify an Audio Visual Engineer for a long term role in Princeton, NJ.  In this role the Audio Video Support SME will manage over 50 end points of audio and video conference rooms with Polycom and Crestron technology rooms. The ideal candidate will have experience:

  • designing enterprise AV solutions in a multitude of room environments
  • building and executing testing plans
  • generating reports to leadership
  • building, testing and evaluating new technology solutions

Familiarity with AV operating systems and configuration settings for black box equipment and PC devices is required. A background in Audio Visual and IT system design and system integration will be a key component for success in this role.

Key duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, demanding environment, under immense pressure. The pace requires independent and confident thinking, self-motivation and determination

  • Installs all types of audio visual devices and system control technology, including TV’s/Monitors, projectors, cameras, microphones, speakers, in wall cabling, floor/wall plates.

  • Assist in daily setups of video conferences, teleconferences, web meetings and auditorium setups (microphone placement, laptop/computer and peripherals, recording equipment), and the arrangement/testing of the necessary audio-visual requirements

  • Investigate alternatives and research development of strategic implementations of voice and network components; recommends Telecom solutions for short-, medium-, and long-range network projects

  • Collaborate with vendors and MSPs to provide knowledge of audio / video technologies to ensure successful implementations of new or changed systems and support.

  • Plan and maintain the highly technical, logical configuration of phone system technologies

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with both technical and non-technical individuals of all organization levels

  • Perform firmware updates for system components as needed

  • Configure devices (IP addresses, SIP settings, audio adjustments, etc.) as needed

  • Perform physical integration and testing of AV components as needed

Technical Requirements:

  • Audio Visual experience, specializing in Video Conferencing, Video Streaming, WebEx, Camera Operations and Event Audio/Video Operations.  Setup Audio Video equipment-wireless mics, laptops, projectors, plasmas
  • In depth knowledge and practical application of video conferencing technologies and protocols (H.323, SIP, H.264, etc.)
  • Knowledge on Blue Jeans and On24 setup and Support
  • Knowledge on Polycom 500 series, RMA, DMA administration and End Point Management
  • DHCP/Static addressing, IP Addressing
  • Control (Crestron, Polycom)
  • Knowledge on Skype for Business

Knowledge of Digital Signage Management. such as Omnivex will be a plus.
