Job Duties/Description:

To serve commercial and industrial businesses in a specific geographic area by evaluating fire protection and safety needs, make recommendations, educate customers, and secure orders for products and services.

MAJOR FUNCTIONS:

Individual is responsible to prospect and develop new accounts and provide proposals for additional products and services to existing accounts within assigned geographic territory. Communicate with the customer on recommendations for and uses of new and existing products and services. Create invoices and other documentation pertaining to customer transactions. Assist in the installation of jobs sold and assist in the resolution of customer complaints and collection of past due invoices. Attend all company mandated meetings and or training. Other duties may be assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING:

Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, knowledge of national, state and local codes, maintaining a current drivers license, and knowledge of specific manufacturers requirements. Individual must possess and demonstrate good written and oral communication skills, be able to read simple plans or blueprints, have general computer knowledge, basic accounting understanding, and be able to work with minimal supervision.

CONTROL OF RESOURCES:

Individual is responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of an assigned company vehicle. Supplies and equipment needed to perform job functions are to be maintained by the individual. Tools and supplies requisitioned by the individual are the sole responsibility of the individual. All funds cash or checks collected by the individual for payment on customer accounts are to be submitted to the main office upon completion of the invoice.

LOCATION, ATMOSPHERE, & ENVIRONMENT:

The job sites will be at the customer’s location and may be scheduled during day or night hours. The individual must be able to carry tools and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Working environments may include hot or cold surfaces and conditions, excessive noise and or vibrations, dust, toxic chemicals, oils, solvents, and moving parts or equipment.

AUTHORITY:

The individual will make judgments and decisions on specific customer needs based on code requirements and manufacturers specifications. The individual is responsible for personal and job scheduling, quoting account pricing, and follow-up on customer accounts. Division manager will make decisions on credit policy.   

PERFORMANCE MEASURES:

Individual is responsible to achieve a minimum sales revenue of 85% of monthly sales forecast. The individual is to make at least one cold/follow-up call to a new prospect for each day worked on a weekly average.  Must adhere to and follow all company handbook, safety handbook, and fleet safety handbook policies.

REPORT PREPARATION:

An activity report outlining all actions performed, contacts made, as well as vehicle usage is to be completed daily and submitted to the main office weekly. Specific new customer information sheets, service detail sheets, installation materials sheets, quote calculation spreadsheets, and job invoices are to be completed on a timely basis depending on the sale or service provided.
