Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) - Power Control Assembly Subsystem Components 


This manufacturing company located in Denton,Texas (near Dallas) which is a global technology leader in the design, manufacture and customer support of premium light-, medium- and heavy-duty trucks is seeking a Battery Electric Vehicle – Power Control Assembly Subsystem Components for a full-time, direct role. The client also designs and manufactures advanced diesel engines, provides financial services, information technology, and distributes truck parts related to its principal business. Do you want to help shape the company’s future electric powered vehicles? The Advance Design team is looking for a Mechanical Engineer with interest in supporting innovative design development.  Duties involve interface with the Technical Center, Global Electric Powertrain Team, Product Planning, Marketing & Sales, and Management to evaluate customer requirements and definition of vehicle level targets that support launching the next generation of industry leading trucks.  Scope of work includes working on new development programs, analysis of potential new product designs, employing innovative skills to mature ideas from concepts, problem resolution, and other engineering duties supporting various aspects of product development.

The selected candidate will lead design effort to deliver common mounting and component strategies for the Power Control Assembly Subsystem (PCAS) Components. Coordinate with Product Planning to understand major program Book of Wishes and identify all customer requirements which cascade into design requirements. Support development of Product Description Books (PDBs) for engineering projects, establishing project scope, vehicle requirements, and performance targets. Completion of six sigma documentation in assigned phases of project. Prepare engineering activity status reports and other detailed reporting as directed. Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Knowledge of and/or experience in heavy truck components and systems is preferred. Thorough knowledge and experience with Pro/ENGINEER/CREO required. Experience coordinating prototyping of parts required. Experience coordinating supplier activities required.

Experience coordinating pilot activities required. Demonstrate ability to handle multiple tasks, ability to learn on the fly, and adapt to change. Demonstrate professional and successful communication skills (verbal/written) with strong, effective interpersonal abilities. Applying standard engineering techniques with minimal supervision. Proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and related computer software.

Requires a proactive approach to defining issues and reaching early resolution and consensus. Act in a professional manner in all contacts with external and internal customers.
