Bilingual HR/Benefits Assistant

Petaluma, CA

This is a great opportunity if you're looking to enter the HR field but have no prior experience! This position includes all needed training, no HR experience required!

Volt Workforce Solutions has an opening for a Bilingual HR/Benefits Assistant position for a large food manufacturing client based in Petaluma, CA. You will be responsible for assisting the Benefits Coordinator and being the point of contact for employees and 3rd party vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct support to the Corporate Benefits Specialist in the follow benefit administration areas:
    • Assist in coordinating/scheduling new employee benefit orientations, HIPAA trainings and new HR team member benefit training.
    • Support other benefit administrative processes 
    • Responsible for following procedures to ensure regulatory compliance including HIPAA and ERISA.
    • Support events such as open enrollment, 401(k) meetings, and wellness initiatives.
  • Deliver best-in-class customer service to internal and external customers at all times, with an emphasis on being responsive, professional, and accurate.
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
  • Liaison between employee and Benefits Coordinator as well as 3rd party vendors
  • Data entry, scanning, filing, sending out documents as needed
  • Clerical duties, assisting with paperwork as needed with opportunity to have more responsibilities


  • Quick and eager learner, must be trainable
  • Very basic knowledge of HR laws and regulations. (preferred, not required)
  • Strong interpersonal skills.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient on MS Word and Excel. 
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects, priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
  • Professional appearance and demeanor

  • **Bilingual, English/Spanish required.**
  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience a plus but not required
  • HR Certificate a plus but not required
  • Two to four years of administrative experience in a high volume environment preferred
  • Minimum of one year of Human Resources experience, preferably in manufacturing, a plus but not required
