Volt is currently looking to hire a Bilingual Category Sourcing Specialist for our client located in Downtown Montreal, QC. 

Job Title: Bilingual Category Sourcing Specialist

Length: 6 months w/ likely possibility of  renewal another 6 months

Pay Rate: $25 cad/hour to $30 cad/hour DOE  + 4% vacation pay

Location: Downtown Montreal, QC

Primary Purpose

Based in Montreal and reporting to the Regional Manager – Mining Equipment, the primary purpose of the Category Sourcing Specialist role is to:

• Manage local LME (Light Mobile Equipment) contracts and support any request for new lease / buy of LME Equipment (RFQ).

• Prepare & Conduct Supplier/contract negotiations

• Manage price outline agreements


The role is responsible to:

• Maintain the highest standard of health and safety performance by implementing a personal safety plan, exhibiting behaviours consistent with zero tolerance

• Lead by example with colleagues, team members and suppliers and act in accordance with RTP HSE policies.

• Gather and review Atlantic Projects and business requirements

• Conduct sourcing, bidding, negotiation activity and finalize contract for selected project

• Contract Administration Tasks including:

• Manage application of contract and follow up with the technical teams

• Develop supporting KPIs and reporting tools

• Provide supplier liaison relevant to contract administration tasks (e.g. follow-up on delivery and PO discrepancy issues escalated by project)

• Support Projects Control, Global and Buy Teams in P2P processes

• Manage stakeholders (Customer and Supplier) Relationship

• Support the syndication of Stakeholders relationships within the various RT businesses

• Develop an awareness of E&P Emerging Markets

• Support the LME Category and RTP Emerging Markets team to develop and implement an Emerging Markets Strategy for the category. Follow trial progress and report accordingly.

What you need for this role:

To be successfully considered for this role, you will ideally, be or have:

• Bachelor Degree in a commercial or engineering discipline

• Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in LME (Light Mobile Equipment) industry

• Excellent written and spoken English and French essential (communication skills)

• Strong commercial acumen and negotiation expertise

• Effective time management and personal organizational skills

• Strong problem solving, strategic and analytical capability

• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (excel)

• Knowledge of SAP, Arriba

• Ability to achieve outcomes through influence and collaboration with others

• Ability to work in Canada & travel to USA
