Volt is currently looking to hire a Bilingual Expeditor (Purchasing/Inventory) for our client located in St. Laurent, QC. This is an approx.. 6 months contract.  The ideal candidate should have a good mix of inventory management and warehouse experience and some knowledge of purchasing. The incumbent should also be proficient in using MS Office Suite, particularly MS Excel.

JOB TITLE: Bilingual Materials Expeditor (Pharmaceutical Industry)

LENGTH OF ASSIGNMENT:  Approx. 6 months contract to start As Soon As Possible!

SHIFT: 1st Shift (Morning)

Facilitates and expedites the flow of materials to and from various departments. The Expeditor deals directly with vendors to ensure prompt and accurate delivery of goods to appropriate locations. Checks system to verify delivered goods match order specifications. A key component of the job is to handle any delivery inconsistencies or delays and to monitor IDR list.

Essential Functions:

  • Expedite assigned purchase orders to ensure all requirements specified in the purchase order are accomplished with regard to data supply, timely inspection and on time delivery.
  • Facilitate the timely flow of information and services to and from Suppliers, Site Managers, vendors and SSI Procurement.
  • Review Purchase Orders for terms and conditions regarding materials procured.
  • Handle any delivery inconsistencies or delays and alert management
  • Deal directly with vendors to ensure prompt and accurate delivery of goods to appropriate locations
  • Input information in the SOS System or other CMMS System to log purchase order history from inception.
  • Review inspection reports for potential problems and further actions.


High School Diploma                                                             


  • 1-2 years working experience; warehouse and/or inventory management
  • Fluently Bilingual English & French – written and verbal
  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite (In particular, Excel)
  • Familiar with Vendor management / Purchasing majority of their day will be spent dealing with vendors to follow-up orders, negotiate delivery dates and assisting with buyer over-flow.
  • Working knowledge of Excel
  • Strong interpersonal and phone skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Detail oriented and well-organized
  • Purchasing/Buying Experience a plus


  • Occasional walking and standing (10-25%).
  • Occasional carrying 25 pounds or less (10-25%).
  • Frequent use of keyboard and mouse and repetitive or fine hand movements (over 50%).
  • Occasional climbing stairs (25-50%), may be more at certain sites.
  • Frequent sitting in front of a computer screen and using keyboard and mouse or fine hand movements (over 50%).
  • Frequently required to communicate via phone (over 50%).
  • Often reaching, bending, stooping, and twisting to handle inventory (25-50%).
