Job Description

Volt Workforce Solutions has immediate openings for Brake Press Operators for our client located centrally in Colorado Springs (I-25 & Filmore area). 

Temp to hire opportunity -1st and 2nd shifts available  (Pay $16-$18)

General Information:

Will produce parts from metal, plastic, or other materials using a brake press, a computer numeric controlled (CNC) piece of equipment that makes precision bends or folds into material. Press brake operators look at blueprints or plans for the finished product, make adjustments to the machine to control speed, material feed, path of the bend, as well as make sure the machines are set up properly, working well, and producing quality product. They make sure their machines are working at full capacity, are stocked with needed materials, well-maintained and perform periodic checks on output. They look at the finished product to ensure it is defect-free and ready for the next step in production.

Duties:

  • Candidate must possess the ability to set up and operate a hydraulic press brake with CNC controls, with a high degree of efficiency to very tight tolerances.
  • Knowing how to perform basic maintenance and achieve peak performance from machines are traits of successful V form operators.
  • Perform to a high level of craftsmanship with attention to detail. Ability to translate print specifications into a form set up and executes production runs. Must be able to maintain tight tolerance levels with +/- one degree.
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand requirements for bending materials such as K factors and tolerances.
  • Must be able to read and properly use a variety of precision measuring tools.
  • Demonstrate ability to understand complex procedures are a must.
  • Knowledge of mathematics and set up problem solving skills are necessary.
  • Understand basic computer set up functions for CNC controls and be able to navigate windows based production network.

Work Environment:

This job operates in high volume production manufacturing area. Exposure to a range of metal materials is normal. Job is primarily standing and using arms at extended lengths. Candidate must be comfortable standing and manipulating potentially heavy objects for extended periods of time.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3-5 years of prior CNC controlled V-Form brake operations required.
  • Prior experience in ISO9001 or AS9100 shop helpful but not required.
