Volt currently has an opening for a Data Center Technician at our client site in Mesa, AZ. In this role you will be responsible maintaining server hardware, software and network connectivity in a complex data center environment. Responsibilities
- Racking and stacking servers in a data center environment
- Replace failed fans, motherboards, CPUs, hard drives, DIMMs, cache batteries and other related server hardware
- Upgrade system firmware and software as needed
- Work closely with application teams for day to day support issues, break/fix issues and any scheduled maintenance
- Monitor and track all activity in ticketing system
- Ticket triage and escalation to the appropriate level
- Working with hand tools
- Maintain server build and release SLA
- Configuration of OS and Network in Unix/Linux environment
- Troubleshoot Cat6 Ethernet and Fiber Optic connections
Key Qualifications
- Knowledge of Cat5E/Cat6 and/or Fiber networking standards
- Unix/Linux command line experience (commands to check configuration settings or perform troubleshooting)
- Basic understanding of Scripting
- Strong understanding of networking standards and configuration
- Multi-meter and Oscilloscope experience nice to have
- Any Networking or Computer certifications are nice to have
- Commitment to excellence and high standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to multitask and manage priorities
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- High degree of professionalism
- Able to lift and move 50lbs of equipment daily
