Job Description

Volt is looking for a Broadband RF Design Engineer for our client in Greensboro, NC. This is a direct hire position with great benefits and competitive salary. The candidate must be fluent in English and Mandarin to qualify. 

Our client is an American semiconductor company that designs, manufactures, and supplies radio-frequency systems. The company became a component of the S&P 500, with a workforce of 8,000 people. 


  • Provide application support to product development team and marketing during new product introduction process with reference designs, datasheets, and application notes
  • Provide training, create and modify datasheets, design application circuits and boards, and reference circuits for successful product launch
  • Generate and deliver technical presentations for customers, outside sales personnel, and internal engineering and management team
  • Design custom application circuits including bench work (measurements/circuit tuning) as required, run simulation to support customer’s designs
  • Provide system analysis and recommend best product solutions
  • Create and update technical product information for customers and sales staff
  • Perform ADS and other simulation tools for linear and non-linear models
  • PCB designs
  • Troubleshoot and solve technical issues for customers
  • Publish technical articles in trade journals
  • Work with vendors on equipment upgrades and training on new features and upgrades
  • Provide competitive analysis  
  • Generate and modify automated test software
  • Travel for customer support as needed basis
  • Chinese speaking (Mandarin)
  • Travel required once a quarter
  • Experience in following areas will be beneficial
    • PON (Passive Optical Network)
    • Optical systems
    • TIA (Trans Impedance Amplifier)
    • PD (Photo Diode)
    • APD (Avalanche Photo Diode)
    • LA (Limiting Amplifier)
    • FTTH (Fiber to The Home)
    • RF circuits
    • Broadband HFC (Hybrid Fiber Coaxial)
  • BSEE is required;  MSEE is preferred
  • 3+ years of work experience
  • Focus on microwave, analog, and RF circuits
