Volt has partnered with an excellent organization based in Ashburn, VA to help identify a Business Development Manager to join their team.  In this Direct Hire role you will be  responsible for identifying and developing business initiatives, assessing new markets, analyzing and developing tangible business opportunities, and developing strategic directions.  If this role sounds of interest, please consider applying today! 

  • Develop business expansion into existing and adjacent markets to meet growth, diversification, and financial objectives. 
  • Identifies new markets and opportunities to sustain business unit growth. 
  • Develops long and short term strategies to capture new opportunities. 
  • Supports product development and marketing efforts based on strategies. 
  • Assesses and recommends requirements for organizational alignment, staffing, and tools. 
  • Identify, qualify and develop strategies to capture business opportunities and manage pipeline to ensure all related tasks are identified and completed. 
  • Participate in customer and industry meetings to understand needs and requirements
  • Support contract negotiations to closure and provide capture management responsibility.  Identify learning partners as necessary, and initiate and close teaming agreements.
  • Monitor industry developments and advance strategies to translate them into tangible business opportunities.  
  • Monitor/participate in regulatory developments and identify/develop associated opportunities.
  • Develop marketing plans, and lead marketing activities including collateral development, website content, conference and trade-show participation, and speaking engagements.  
  • Support the strategic planning process to identify 2-3-year opportunity horizons.  Develop business plans including market analyses and financial pro forma. 
  • Support product development efforts to advance strategic initiatives. 
  • Identify, research and maintain development plans for partnership, merger, and acquisition strategies. 
  • Execute long life cycle strategies to capture bid pursuits, as well as tactical strategies to identify, position for, bid on, and close business opportunities.  Interface with corporate leadership to advance business unit strategies and goals. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's in related curriculum such as Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or a related degree
  • 5+ years’ experience in the tech field (wireless preferred) with business development or capture management.
  • Thorough knowledge of spectrum regulatory landscape including FCC, NTIA, and ITU
  • Excellent written and oral communications
