Business Systems Analyst

This is an estimated 3 month plus temporary position in Issaquah, WA and is offered through Volt Workforce Solutions. We are among the largest staffing companies in the US for contingent/temporary and direct hire placements, and support many of the top rated Pacific Northwest companies.

The Data Management team is chartered to enable positive business outcomes by driving right behaviors and decisions through strong data management and delivery. 

The Senior Business Analyst is a critical role providing support to scope a global data migration initiative supporting worldwide Services business. This role will work across a matrixed organization with cross-functional teams across the Services organization to provide analysis and an interpretation of business impacts as they relate to contractual engagements with the customers. This role will be instrumental to define the scope and the nature of the transactional data migration across 100+ countries, hundreds of Services’ project engagements and thousands of consultants world-wide. The role will require you to shift from writing SQL to reviewing contract language for financial interpretations to querying legacy systems to devise transactions and invoice history in order to establish a pattern and a formula for outstanding balances and commitments. You will be responsible for understanding the interconnected systems and data flow in order to provide accurate analysis in the phase 1 of the project; phase 2 will rely on business investigation techniques to understand the specifics of identified contracts, time & expense transactions, and billed vs. unbilled liabilities; phase 3 will require business process and impact assessment for each individual contract to establish clear timelines and communication to prepare operations teams, project management teams, and data migration teams with engineering for migration efforts.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Define the scope of the migration process based on the larger program release scope.
  • Engage with key users and stakeholders and define Data Migration requirements.
  • Define and document business rules for handling source data and assess data quality.
  • Define and document target data requirements and source data transformation rules.
  • Create Data Migration design specifications including Source to Target mappings
  • Perform impact analysis migration data and create synthesized reports from source & target
  • Create test plans and simulation plans for the data migration process.
  • Collaborative team player with strong cultural awareness
  • Exceptional communication skills / excellent collaboration and negotiation skills


  • 5+ years of experience working in data migration
  • 7+ years of experience performing data analysis and business analysis
  • 2+ years supporting Finance, Accounting, AR/AP and or being involved in ERP implementations
  • Advanced-level user of Database tools (SQL, MS Access) with ability to write SQL for data analysis
  • Solid mathematical aptitude and effective project management skills
  • Advanced PowerBI skill level preferred
  • Experience with data transformation and manipulation of large datasets
  • PMP certification or strong process-oriented project management skills required, Agile or scrum methodology preferred
  • A Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience.  MBA preferred
