Description/Comment: Responsible for providing purchasing solutions expertise using Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, Management (QCLDM) to deliver maximum value in developing, communicating, and/or implementing a local or regional sourcing strategy for a specific Caterpillar business unit. Education/Experience: An undergraduate degree from a college or university (or equivalent) or equivalent experience. Five to seven years relevant experience required. Experience leading projects as well as teams, suppliers, and customers to effective solutions. Skills and Competencies: Strategic guidance (understand the current supplier base, evaluating strategic options, deciding a course of action, and beginning implementations). Team leadership (guiding decisions on sourcing, logistics, and resource management, as well as continuous process improvement and team-member mentorship). Intelligent problem-solving and customer support solutions (determining how to best satisfy Critical Customer Requirements while sustaining competitive advantage). Quality supplier relationships (developing mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers throughout the organization). Willingness to travel up to 50-75% of work time as needed. Fluency (able to speak, read, write, and comprehend fluently) in English. Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal, analytical, leadership, and project management skills to develop close working relationships with others both inside and outside Caterpillar - Preferred. Major Job Duties and Responsibilities: Managing policies, agreements, source catalogs, and special purchasing programs. Supporting specific Product line(s) and New Product Introduction (NPI) programs. Liaise with the corresponding Category/Platform based Buyers.


Candidate Responsibilities This positions will contribute to the on time delivery of components that helps ensure successful sales to our customers. Typical Day A typical day will involve the review of the worklist with the goal of issuing PO's for all items on the worklist. Following up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery. Coordination with process partners to ensure efficient communication. Education Requirement Undergraduate degree required. Degree in business or supply chain preferred. Technical Skills Required 5-7 years of experience required.
SAP experience preferred.
Intermediate Excel (pivot tables, vlookups) required. Advanced Excel user highly preferred.
PowerPoint required.
Previous sourcing experience preferred. Soft Skills Required

Candidate must be willing to accept ad hoc requests and work in a dynamic environment.

Good communication skills. Must be motivated.
