Job Description

Volt has an opening for high caliber Buyer III for a client in Menlo Park CA. 

Volt's Client is an American healthcare company that has a broad range of branded generic pharmaceuticals, medical devices, diagnostics, and nutrition products.

Responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors. Evaluates vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May report to an executive or a manager. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

  • Responsible for assisting with the development and maintenance of the production schedule, ensuring the availability of required resources to meet the production schedule.
  • Generate purchase requisitions for materials to sustain manufacturing schedules.
  • Monitors raw material and subassembly delivery dates and follows up as necessary.
  • Establishes the manufacturing schedule in partnership with manufacturing management.
  • Ensures manufacturing employees and manufacturing management are notified of the manufacturing schedule. 
  • Helps to identify issues which may impact the manufacturing schedule and updates necessary personnel of the status.
  • Negotiates routine purchases of raw materials and other expense items for the department.
  • Updates the ERP/MRP as necessary and generates reports for various team members.
  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. 
  • Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Ability to talk with suppliers via phone, will need to be able to interact with other departments for indirect buys. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, with 5-8 years of experience
  • Previous experience in planning, purchasing
  • SAP ECC Experience
  • Placing PO’s based on MRP’s signals preferred
  • MS Office;(Outlook, Excel Proficient)
  • Previous experience in the medical device industry preferred.

This position is Non-Exempt on W2
