Volt Workforce Solutions is seeking a Buyer/Planner who is an expert in materials planning to be responsible for managing all pieces of purchasing process.  The successful candidate will be the link between purchasing, Value Streams, Management, Marketing, and Master Scheduling.

Job Responsibilities:
• Responsible for material planning

• Relay priorities and schedule changes to suppliers.
• Create and maintain relationships with suppliers while keeping management and the team up to date on common issues.

• Be a lead within Value Stream.
• Be responsible for an inventory action plan to sustain proper inventory levels and reach turn goals of key production components
• Train and facilitate the upgrade to a pull-based replenishment system (Kanban) to improve inventory turns and eliminate part shortages
• Track supplier orders to assure they are shipped on a timely basis to support the Value Stream.
• Revamp supplier fill rates, quality, and lead times to fit product mix and needs
• Use Kaizen to continuously improve lead-times, material flow and system wide efficiencies.
• Secure quotes from suppliers for production material and Outside Processing operations
• Negotiate blanket purchase orders as well as target cost reduction initiatives that eliminate adverse Purchase Price Index.
• Report out on daily shortage reports.
• Reconcile invoice discrepancies.
• Handle supplier quality through the Non-Conforming Report process

• Collaborate with suppliers and Procurement Quality Engineers to resolve Corrective Action Requests generated from NCRs
• Receive Return Merchandise Authorization, and processes return transactions in Oracle; Follow Debit Memo process for supplier rework of discrepant materials

 Required Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience purchasing in a similar industry.
• Experience with material planning(MRP), inventory control, production scheduling, and Kanban systems.
• High level of communication skills.

•Proficiency in Excel, Word and Access databases;

•Ability to perform math and logic computations requiring sequencing of times, critical incidents, and numeric information;

•Ability to negotiate changes with vendors and manufacturing teams
•BA or BS degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Materials-related field
