Located in Gresham Oregon

$20-$25 per hour, DOE

Must have previous experience buying/planning in a manufacturing environment

Volt’s client is looking for a qualified Buyer/Planner for their manufacturing site. Materials will include electronics, machinery, and various wood/metal/plastic parts. Qualified candidates will have previous experience buying and tracking inventory for a manufacturing environment. This is an active on your feet on the work floor position, not an office/desk position.

Primary Duties:

  • Create and place purchase orders for inventoried and non-inventoried items
  • Ensure product arrives on time and at the agreed cost and quality
  • Monitor inventory accuracy through Quick Books Enterprise 
  • Perform cycle counts and physical inventory counts - to ensure inventory reports are up to date and accurate
  • Determines cause of inventory variances and recommends action to Supply Chain Manager
  • Work with suppliers to achieve our cost goals
  • Assist with setting up Kanban system, and ongoing monitoring and updating 
  • Reports overstocked and slow-moving items to the Supply Chain Manager and assists with execution of corrective action, including liquidation of obsolete and excess inventory.
  • Ensure materials are at internal locations as scheduled to allow production to flow 
  • Perform other tasks and projects as assigned 
  • Communicate effectively with external and internal clients 

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Quick books Enterprise inventory experience
  • Minimum of three years Inventory buying and planning experience in a manufacturing environment (with references to support)
  • Great work ethic - punctual, happy to be at work, accepts responsibilities of role and delivers exceptional work
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) 
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and computer skills
  • Can work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Word, Outlook, Excel and well as QuickBooks 
  • In depth knowledge of cycle counts and inventory management
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and achieving deadlines
  • Valid drivers is required, as well as ability to pass pre employment screenings.
