Salary will depend on experience

Volt client, located in Troutdale Oregon, is looking for a qualified Buyer/Planner for their Manufacturing Facility. Qualified candidates should have at least 3 years of relatable experience, preferable in a Production or Manufacturing environment. This is an active role, where you will be on your feet and moving product weighing up to 50lbs.


  • Create and place purchase orders for inventoried and non-inventoried items
  • Ensure product arrives on time and at the agreed cost and quality
  • Monitor inventory accuracy through Quick Books Enterprise 
  • Perform cycle counts and physical inventory counts - to ensure Quick Book Inventory reports are up to date and accurate
  • Determines cause of inventory variances and recommends corrective action to Supply Chain Manager
  • Work with suppliers to achieve our cost goals 
  • Assist with setting up Kanban system, and ongoing monitoring and updating 
  • Reports overstocked and slow-moving items to the Supply Chain Manager and assists with execution of corrective action, including liquidation of obsolete and excess inventory.
  • Ensure materials are at internal locations as scheduled to allow production to flow 
  • Perform other tasks and projects as assigned 
  • Communicate effectively with external and internal clients 

Desired Skills:

  • Must possess a valid driver license, and pass pre-employment screenings.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Able to work in an open work environment. Warmer in the summer, colder in the winter.
  • Great work ethic and punctual
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) 
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and computer skills
  • Quick books Enterprise inventory experience - Desired
  • Minimum of three years Inventory buying and planning experience in a manufacturing environment (with references to support)
  • Can work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Word, Outlook, Excel and well as Quickbooks (preferred) 
  • In depth knowledge of cycle counts and inventory management
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, achieving deadlines
  • Able to prioritize projects and requests, and ability to stay composed in a deadline driven environment.
