This company in Redmond, WA which is the world's leading fusion energy company is seeking a Buyer for a contract to hire role. In this role the selected candidate will analyze and coordinate data to drive purchasing consistent with quality, cost, and schedule requirements. You will manage critical suppliers to ensure a timely flow of materials; manage high visibility projects and communicate/escalate information quickly and efficiently. Responsibilities include analyzing purchase history of components and issue purchase orders. Negotiate pricing, price reductions, inventory, supply agreements, lead time reductions, and process improvements. Drive increasing inventory turns by developing, implementing, and managing innovative material replenishment processes. Work with suppliers and engineering on future designs that affect current and future orders. Analyze engineering change orders, deviations, and waivers to determine affectivity.
Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate should possess a BS/BA preferably in Supply Chain Management and be proficient in MRP logic, scheduling, and order policies skills. Demonstrated analytical and statistical analysis skills. Demonstrated judgment when escalating issues. Ability to read and procure using source control drawings.
Key points: 
Our client is a startup company that has been around since 2016 and is well-funded. The founders are seeking a Buyer who can work well in a small company environment (30) employees and knows how to work well independently and is self-motivated and directed.

  • Looking for someone who can build the infrastructure and can negotiate with suppliers.
  • Experience purchasing metals, glass, fasteners, belts and has some contract manufacturing experience.
  • Must be able to build their brand, is given a lot of latitude and must be the right fit culturally.
  • Must be able to take existing contracts, negotiate lower cost and rates,
  • Must be able to set-up process, roll-out technology platform, 3) build for the future.
  • Must be right personality fit. Must be able to lead with influence and in persuasion and have the ability to drive change.

May communicate with founders 30 minutes a week and keep them inform on progress
