Job Description

Stable and established leader in Aerospace Manufacturing is currently looking for a skilled and experienced Buyer. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for procuring services for outside sourcing (sub-contract machining, processing, services, and supplies, with emphasis on raw materials).
  • Review, enter, and process requests for quotation (RFQ).
  • Negotiate favorable pricing, lead time and terms.
  • Issue purchase orders (sales, services, repairs, maintenance, and/or supplies.)
  • Follow up with suppliers to confirm on time delivery and or delays, reschedule (Open order report).
  • Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with Inspectors, QA personnel, suppliers, and others to determine source of non-conformance and corrective action.
  • Keep relative individuals or groups informed of progress affecting their job.
  • Provide daily list of activities (pickups and deliveries including PO#, JO) to Driver personnel.
  • Attend department meetings to advise staff of JO status.
  • Resolve any AP issues and/or discrepancies with suppliers (not limited to quantity or price).
  • Coordinate with department managers on operational projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school graduate required; additional college experience preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years job related job experience required.
  • Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Must be computer literate and proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel).
  • Highly organized and detail oriented is a must.
  • Quick learner; able to thrive in fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem solving skills. Must have initiative and drive to root out problems and perform.
  • Ability to work without constant direction and monitor own work to ensure quality.
  • Must be dependable; consistent attendance/punctuality is required.
  • Strong math and writing skills.
  • Basic accounting and costing skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, follow  policies and procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
