Job Description

CAD/CAM Engineering Technician

Job Summary

Utilize CAD / CAM education and/or experience to translate tooling requirements into controlled CAD and CAM files.

Responsibilities:

  • Documents engineering designs of process tooling, fixtures & mechanisms used throughout the production facility
  • Documents plant layout (location of machinery)
  • Creates and maintains CAD drawings for molds, machined parts, tools and machines
  • Creates CAM files for CNC machinery
  • Interfaces with engineers, designers, machine shop supervisor, tradesmen
  • Creates, updates, maintains Bills of Materials for projects
  • May recommend and manage re-order points and quantities for machine spares, machine shop materials and tools.
  • May work with the machine shop supervisor to Identify and interface with external machine shops as needed to meet deadlines and/or to obtain services not available internally.
  • May occasionally visit supplier locations to deliver or retrieve machines parts
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results.
  • Creates the assembly drawing and/or machine designs
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Intermediate to high level of expertise the use and application of AutoCad Inventor CAD/CAM, documentation control and change management. Strong communication skills, capability to learn mold design and manufacture, scheduling, organization
  • Develops resolutions to problems of low to moderate scope. Follows standard practices and procedures.
  • Technical School Graduate, Associates Degree, and/or 5+ years of relevant experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience with demonstrated proficiency will be considered.
