CAD/PLM Services Specialists - does this sound like you?

The CAD/PLM Services Specialist will assist clients with the use of CAD/PLM Software (CATIA) provide product assistance and support, troubleshoot engineering software challenges, and provide written documentation for the support team.

Will manage technical support cases for multiple clients and assist in the resolution of technical, business and logical software issues. Will also be expected to identify and document software issues, and collaborate with our Engineering team to achieve resolution. Additionally, this individual will build and maintain strong client relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform extensive troubleshooting in a CAD/PLM system environment and able to quickly diagnose system related problems
  • Work within a diverse group of staff with varying skills and different job functions
  • Develop and train users with the skills necessary to adequately support all projects and departmental/company goals
  • Work closely with the Department Manager and Engineering Managers in resource (workload/capacity) loading for support needs
  • Report project status and implement recovery plans as required to maintain schedules
  • Provide direction, technical oversight, and support designers/engineers on current and future CAD/PLM system processes
  • Act as resource for internal and external projects of significant scope and contribute knowledge and expertise as required
  • Complete fluency in the basics of CATIA CAD modules
  • Support and perform installation procedures of CAD/PLM software
  • Knowledge of customization and automation possibilities for CATIA CAD software
  • Creation of documented best practices, training material, and methodology to support CAD/PLM software

Requirements:

  • Requires 2 or more years of demonstrated support in technical capabilities, involvement in problem solving teams, and mentoring of employees
  • Good functional knowledge of CATIA CAD software
  • Technical capabilities should include problem solving, root cause analysis, mechanical design, 3D model and 2D drawing release, configuration management, design reviews, and standard parts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have extensive troubleshooting experience and ability to quickly diagnose CAD/SmarTeam/Windchill related problems
  • Ability to work under pressure and interface well with customer staff
  • Proficient in creating documents with standard office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
  • Programming skills; VB preferred
  • Understanding of software installations, remote desktop, VMs, and license servers is desired
  • B.S. degree or 6 years equivalent related experience based on education or experience in lieu of degree
  • Minimum of 1 year prior experience using, administering, and managing CAD/PLM Software (CATIA)
  • Minimum of 1 year PLM experience with preference given to SmarTeam
  • Experience resolving Root Cause and Corrective Action is required for improving design integrity and standard work practices
  • LEAN Engineering or 6 sigma training desired
  • Ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment
  • Ability to read and review written communication
