Job Description

Our client is looking for a Catering Coordinator to join them. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves all things Food and Catering. You will have the following:

  • Serves as a key contributor in weekly planning sessions for upcoming Catering events, along with Manager, Director, and Administrative Assistant.
  • Key adviser re: all elements of catering planning including: menu, decor, table arrangements, customer flow, food volumes, display-ware, linens, timing, assessment of reasonability for acceptance of catering requests
  • Coordinates the workflow of catering helpers on days when the catering services are too numerous or too large for a single caterer to accomplish
  • Preps all non-cooked food & beverage items for catering services
  • Maintains & organizes non-food catering supplies within multiple cabinets and storerooms, advising when new equipment is needed; helps select the most appropriate catering service supplies
  • Organizes the day’s workflow to accommodate the wide variety of catering events occurring at various and competing times throughout the day
  • Advises Manager what time s/he as caterer should begin each work day to successfully accommodate each day’s catering events.
  • Independently, sets up all mid and small sized catering events in a timely, attractive, efficient manner in numerous and unique conference room environments; restocks events, as needed  This includes skillful handling of: chafers, canned-heat, linen tablecloths & folding of napkins, risers, beverage dispensers (hot and cold), condiments, serving utensils
  • Advises cooks as to when their hot-food components will be needed for timely set up of the various catering events each day; receives these items at just the right time to ensure quality service
  • Participates in testing and tasting of recipes and products related to catering services
  • Traverses the entire campus setting up catered events
  • Professionally and with polish interacts with catering customers at time of set up to ensure that expectations are met or exceeded
  • Serves as liaison between catering customers and Nutr Srvs leadership to facilitate quality improvements or celebrations
  • Cleans up, retrieves catering equipment and leftovers after catering events
  • Additionally, preps other cold food & beverage items for Café special grab n go, and covers for cashiers and grill, as time allows.
