Job Description

Volt is hiring for a Technical Support Specialist -Cell Analysis Equipment

The Cell Analysis Technical Support function is responsible for first line phone and e-mail support to cell analysis customers. This function is critical in supporting the use and application of Cell Analysis instruments, assay kits, consumables, software and workflows. As our client continues to grow and expand the cell analysis business, a full-time temporary position role is required to assist in the integration of technical support knowledge base material from newly acquired product lines. The technical support knowledge base is the repository for support case information including accepted and approved solutions for use by technical support staff.

The responsibility of the incumbent is as follows:

  • Work with product line subject matter experts to curate, review and migrate knowledge base material into a central platform.
  • Re-write or revise knowledge base entries in conjunction with subject matter experts to drive consistency in content structure and detail.
  • Migrate knowledge base content from one database platform to a newly created central platform
  • Provide on-going updates on the status and progression of the migration process


The ideal candidate must have the following:

  • An undergraduate degree in a life science discipline such as general biology, biochemistry, molecular or cellular biology
  • Ability to grasp and understand cell biology concepts and language
  • Self-motivated with great detail-oriented, and superb organization skills
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • The ability to follow instruction and work well in a collaborative environment across multiple teams
  • Comfort with working independently
  • Ability to work in complex databases and manipulate data as needed
  • Experience with Microsoft software platforms -- specifically Excel, Outlook

Preferred qualifications

  • Hands on laboratory experience with in vitrocell culture
  • Hands on experience with working with cell analysis equipment such as flow cytometers, plate readers or assays.
  • Experience working with Salesforce software and data sets
  • Experience working with Microsoft SharePoint and other cloud based collaborative software
