Job Description:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) develops, maintains, and enhances strong financial controls and oversight that meets or exceeds industry expectations and provides financial planning, systems implementation, and the collection of data that assists the organization in achieving its short and long term goals.

  • Develops and administers the NHS budget consistent with financial targets and goals
  • Develops and maintains appropriate internal controls as measured by current accounting standards/Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Maintains an appropriate cost accounting system compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)

Key Duties/Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Provides strategic financial leadership affecting the financial affairs of the business consistent with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Ensures comprehensive financial models are built and maintained to support short and long term business issues, strategic decisions, special projects, and the overall direction of the company.
  • Leads and develops the annual financial plan for all related entities.
  • Provides strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting investments and asset management.
  • Coordinates annual and contract audits with external auditors and provides recommendations for procedural improvements.
  • Responsible for coordinating and leading the company’s financial planning and debt financing activities.
  • Ensures the collection and administration of financial data is timely and accurate.
  • Demonstrates through mentoring and coaching achievement of NHS leadership competencies.
  • Certifies accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Provides timely, accurate, and auditable financial reports.
  • Provides effective financial management policy guidance on development of associated procedures.
  • Maintains appropriate internal controls.
  • Coordinates the implementation and ongoing maintenance of effective financial management systems.
  • Develops and maintains Cost Accounting Standard (CAS) based Disclosure Statements and approved accounting system as required by FAR.
  • Develops and manages to target the NHS annual budget.
  • Provides leadership consistent with the NHS leadership competencies to assigned departments including finance and budgeting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Credentialed as a Certified Public Accountant, CIA, or CMA
  • 5 years’ management experience in a similar role
  • 3 years’ healthcare and government contracting experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  •  5 years’ healthcare and government contracting experience
  • MBA or Master’s in Accounting
