Job Description

We are currently looking for a Chrome Plating Technician to work with our client located in Downers Grove, IL. Our client is a leading metal finishing manufacturer. 

As a Chrome Plating Technician you are responsible for processing orders according to customer's specifications.

Essential Functions:

  • Process product according to instructions.
  • Design and build conforming anodes.
  • Measure and ensure critical features and dimensions are maintained using assigned gages; visually inspect product for defects.
  • Participate in activities to increase personal skill level, overall departmental processes and product quality.
  • Resolve day-to-day issues by working effectively with others.

Minimum Education & Skills

  • High school graduate or GED.
  • 5 + Years of Chrome Plating experience (Plastic Injection Mold experience preferred)
  • Knowledge of TIG welding preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to use inspection equipment including, but not limited to drop indicators, ID & OD micrometers, height gauge, XRF and eddy current gauges.
  • Ability to read and understand blue prints, including tolerance requirements.
  • Basic shop math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals and fractions.
  • Ability to communicate in English to receive information and recommendations; respond to questions.
  • Understanding of all assigned systems, machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, organize self and others, perform work accurately and detail orientation required.

Minimum Physical Requirements

  • Stamina to work all required hours.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, twist, bend 100% of the workday.
  • Use of hands 100% of the workday
  • 20/40 vision required with or without correction.
  • Ability to hear and speak 100% of the workday
  • Ability to wear all assigned Personal Protective Equipment as required.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance frequently during the workday.
  • Ability to work in a shop environment – frequent exposure to loud noises and chemicals.
