Continuous Improvement & Manufacturing Engineering Manager

This aerospace manufacturing company located in Gardena, California which is a leading worldwide, diversified manufacturer of complex metal components and products is seeking a Continuous Improvement & Manufacturing Engineering Manager for a full time direct opportunity.

The Continuous Improvement and Manufacturing Engineering Manager oversees the entire process control function of the organization including Manufacturing Engineering, Continuous Improvement, and CNC Programming.  This position manages the Capital Expenditure Budget for the plant and is accountable for annual cost saving improvements.  

This position resolves manufacturing problems using modern problem-solving tools such as Six Sigma, Lean, A3, and Root Cause Corrective Action. The selected candidate will have direct management of both Manufacturing Engineers (exempt employees) and Programmers (non-exempt employees) in performance of: Creation and management of Bills of Materials and Manufacturing Routings Creation and management of CNC Programs for use in both Tooling and Fitting manufacture.

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate must possess a minimum of a four-year degree in an Engineering discipline. Over 5+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in an Aerospace or similar manufacturing environment. A thorough understanding of manufacturing processes; including CNC technologies, forming/forging processes, painting/coating processes, ERP system interactions, and chemical surface-treatments.

A track-record of successful high-impact projects, including new equipment installations, Lean/Six-Sigma projects, Kaizens, and RCCAs. Extensive project management and team management experience. Elevated skill level with MS Excel, MS Word, MS Visio/Process Flow Diagrams, and MS Project. Experience with Engineering modeling and drawing software, such as Solidworks, AutoCAD, CATIA, ProE, or similar.
