Claims Examiner I & II

Start Date: ASAP ( Mon- Fri 8am - 5pm)

Pay rate: $14 - 16 hr

Contract assignment 6 months or more! Full time opportunities may be possible for a few of the high performers!

JOB SUMMARY: Reviews and adjudicates paper/electronic claims. Determines whether to return, deny or pay claims following organizational policies and procedures

.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF ALL LEVELS:
• Reviews claim and determines denial, acceptance or a need for further investigation.
• Recognizes and reports issues and escalates, as necessary.
• Reviews existing claims for errors and omissions.
• Interprets and applies all business rules, policies and contract.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Claims Examiner I

Experience: 1-year relevant experience
Education: None
Level Specific Responsibilities:
• Processes basic claims that typically are not complex.
• Recognizes and reports issues impacting claims adjudication.
Accountability/Complexity:
• Work is routine or follows standard procedures.
• Work is closely supervised.

Claims Examiner II

Experience: 3 years’ health industry or related experience

Education: None

Level Specific Responsibilities:
• Processes complex claims.
• Processes Coordination of Benefits documents.
• Processes claims adjustments.
• Answers questions, conducts quality review & mentors employees as needed.
• Responsible for researching projects as requested.
• May manage unit work assignments through inventory workflow.
• May lead team to ensure alignment to departmental and company goals.
• May perform coaching on correct claims processes.
• Subject matter expert.
• Handles reports and/or special projects including, but not limited to: intake and resolution of cash, payments of interest, and/or accuracy reviews.

LEVEL SPECIFIC CRITERIA
Accountability/Complexity:
• Problems typically are not routine and require analysis to understand.
• Works under limited supervision for routine situations.
• Provides assistance and training to lower level employee
