Job Description

Volt is currently recruiting for an Client Services Engineer for our client located in McLean, VA. This is a direct placement opportunity. The Client Services Engineer will be involved in the design and implementations of Projects.  This includes determining project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
  • Provide and update documentation, Visio diagrams, and functional designs of existing or future customer environments.
  • Designing, implementing, and troubleshooting modern networks including but not limited to TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless.
  • Designing, implementing, and troubleshooting multi-site Active Directory 2008R2/2012/2016 environments.
  • Designing, implementing, and troubleshooting Microsoft Exchange 2010/2013/2016 and O365 environments.
  • Designing, implementing, and troubleshooting multi-site WAN environments.
  • Designing, implementing, and troubleshooting on-premises networks with multiple WAN and VLAN configurations (including but not limited to routing protocols, switching, Internet, and overall network architecture).
  • Designing, implementing, and troubleshooting virtualization environments.
  • Designing, implementing, and troubleshooting storage area networks.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong time management skills
  • Knowledge of cloud based server solutions (Oracle, AWS, Azure)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Active Directory 2008/2012/2016 and Microsoft Exchange 2010/2013/2016.
  • Strong Proficiency with all facets of O365
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows operating system (2008/2012/2016, Windows 7 and 10).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of products (2010/2013/2016).
  • Proficient with multiple routers, firewalls, switches, and access point configuration and management.
  • Knowledge of MPLS, BGP, and OSPF.
  • Expertise in routing and switching technology and terminology as well as the OSI model and how it applies to telecommunications.
  • Proficient with Virtualization technologies including VMware ESXi 5.5 and later and Hyper-V Clustering.
  • Proficient with Storage solutions. (EqualLogic, Compellent, NetApp)

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of relevant experience
  • ITIL functional experience desired
  • Windows scripting experience (batch files, PowerShell, VB)
  • MCSE, MCSA, MCITP: Server Administrator, MCITP: Enterprise Administrator or equivalent hands-on experience
