Job Description

Volt is looking for a CMM Programmer to join their growing team!                                                                      


Responsible for Quality Engineering function with the development, validation and maintaining of CMM programs while providing support to inspectors, engineers, and production personnel to ensure products meeting customer specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create, revise CMM programs and CMM reports to reflect customer print specification requirement.
  • Create CMM set up and operational instruction to part/ machine specific.
  • Provides technical assistance and training to production, manufacturing engineering, and Quality personnel.
  • Prepares quality control plans and inspection plan utilize Excel or Inspection Xpert.
  • Defines inspection methods, selecting gauges appropriate for inspection activities.
  • Analyze and interpret CMM reports to determine adherence to customer prints, specifications.
  • Responsible for assuring that assigned activities are performed in accordance with their Quality Management System.
  • Prepare detailed inspection report such as written descriptions of inspection results, statistical analysis reports.
  • Serve as technical expert for GD&T and interpretation of AMSE Y14.5M.
  • Responsible for daily, weekly maintenance of CMM machines.
  • Provide support to QC team with FAI, In-Process or Final Inspection activities as needed.
  • Participate in other Quality related activities such as Gage R&R, Process capability studies, PPAP, APQP.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma required, Associate degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years CMM programming experience required. PCDMIS preferred.
  • Background in CNC machining preferred.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Inspector preferred.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, 13485 and AS9100 preferred.

Job Knowledge, Skills, Certifications, etc.

  • Proficient with CMM, surface plate technology, shop math, and mechanical inspection instruments, and blueprints.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to express technical concepts effectively, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient at data collection, analysis, and presentation.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Office and the internet.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with external and internal customers

Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident, due to contractual requirements.
