Job Description

Volt Workforce Solutions is hiring for a CMM Technician for an injection molding company in Loveland.

Job Summary: This position provides both technical and administrative services for the Quality Department to include development of quality plans for the verification of products, tooling, and fixtures, as well as the creation and maintenance of quality related documentation and processes.

Duties and Responsibilities: This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties or responsibilities associated with the job. Other job-related duties may be assigned.

  • Analyze and interpret drawings, data, manuals, and other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, and identify appropriate measuring instruments as required.
  • Production verification by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
  • Perform Incoming/Receiving Inspections and Final Inspections, as assigned.
  • Document inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; input data into various databases such as SPC charts.
  • Work with Project Management and Quality Engineers to determine quality requirements on existing and new projects.
  • Perform Production and In-process Audits on parts and processes, as required.
  • Conduct training for office and manufacturing personnel.
  • Perform Layered, Process, Internal, and Product Audits.
  • Coordinate actions necessary to complete internal and external Corrective Action Requests (CAR’s), Preventative Action Request (PAR’s), and Nonconforming Material Reports (NCMR’s).
  • Assist in coordinating the maintenance, repair, and calibration of precision measurement instruments to the national standard held by NIST, as assigned.
  • Assist with First Articles, Capability Studies, Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility Studies, SPC, APQP’s, PPAP’s, and other Continuous Improvement techniques, as assigned.
  • Conduct 5 Why and 8D exercises for root cause analysis.
  • Create control plans, PFMEA’s, and flow charts.
  • Analyze CMM outputs and measurement data and make recommendations on adjustments and\or corrections.
  • Assist and conduct LEAN initiatives and Kaizen events.

  • 5 years min of direct work experience in a Quality Assurance Field with applied SPC techniques.
  • 2 years CMM operation and/or programming experience (PC-DMIS preferred – or equivalent) preferred.
  • TS 16949, ISO9001, ISO13485, or automotive quality systems experience.
  • Blueprint interpretation, GD&T, and SPC techniques capability.
  • Experienced in generating FAIR’s, PPAP’s, and Cpk reports

Tools/Technology (preferred):

  • Tools used in this occupation: Go/No Go Gauges, Calipers, Digital Micrometers, Vision Inspection Systems (Micro-Vu Inspection),Comparator, CMM, and Label Making Software.
  • Technology used in this occupation: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point), SPC Software (InfinityQS), MiniTab, InspectionXpert
  • Quality System operation & management required.
