CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) Technician / Programmer - MEMPHIS, TN

2nd Shift - $27 hour - APPLY TODAY!

VOLT has partnered with a globally recognized appliance design and manufacturing company and has multiple positions to offer qualified candidates!  These are 2nd shift positions (2:00pm - 10:30pm, M-F)  Possible temp-to perm and/or direct hire opportunity for the ideal candidates. The CMM Technician will:

•    Dimensionally inspects product for conformance to Engineering drawings using       standard measuring devices including CMM  
•    Proficient blueprint reading skills
•    Must have experience strong working knowledge with (GD&T) practices, terms and symbols
•    Review data and advise needed corrections to bring parts into compliance
•    Generate documentation necessary to provide objective evidence of conformance to Engineering requirements.
•    Ability to read and write English and interpret and develop documents such as Drawings, CAD models, Quality procedures, control plans, pFMEA documentation 
•    Must be able to use required charts, maintain and understand records
•    Prefer experience with Mini Tab and statistical analysis
•    Experience with manual surface plate layout, development of jigs and fixture designs
•    Prefer experience with Fabrivision technology and programming, analysis, and utilization of equipment
•    Must be able to perform math calculations, including decimal calculations, conversion from English to Metric and Metric to English.
•    Must be able to work from written and verbal instructions, have flexible work hours.
•    Metal forming or machining background preferred.

Other duties may include:

•    Problem solving and technical expertise to measure and identify root cause for out of specification dimensions 
•    Must possess orientation for detail to confirm work and be able to communicate effectively with internal customers in writing and verbally.


•    Minimum 3-5 years PC-DMIS programming experience (with and without CAD models) including experience with Labview and Intrastage.

•    Significant computer experience; MS Office proficiency, excel spreadsheet development and input.

•    Strong working knowledge of GD&T practices, terms and symbols.


•   Background knowledge and abilities in 5S, Kanban, Lean Manufacturing, Waste Elimination and Continuous Improvement
•    Gage R&R 
•    GD&T
•    Data Analysis (Excel, Minitab, Databases, Weibull, etc.)
•    Ability to function working with cross-functional teams to execute deliverables.
•    Quality Systems
•    Problem Solving (8D methodology or 5 Why: Root/Cause)
•    Analytical skills / Planning / Organizing
