Volt is immediately hiring for 1st shift (7am - 2pm) CNC Programmer (Paying $35- $40 an hour) in Costa Mesa, CA
As a CNC Programmer, you will:
- Develop and formulate CNC programs using CAD/CAM systems based on engineering designs and specifications.
- Plan machining processes and production setups by determining optimal cutter paths, speeds, and feed rates.
- Select and establish appropriate tooling for machining operations.
- Recommend all tooling required for manufacturing parts.
- Prepare complete setup and operation instructions for CNC machines, including tool types, sizes, grades, and definitions.
- Perform test runs on new or revised programs to ensure quality and safe operating conditions.
- Update, edit, and maintain all CNC programs as required.
- Maintain CNC computer equipment and related systems.
- Complete and maintain accurate work and production records.
- Adhere to company attendance, punctuality, and absence policies.
- Fully comply with all company rules, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure safe and effective operations.
- Collaborate with other departments and team members as needed.
This is a Full-time, Contract to hire opportunity.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in computer use to access, edit, and maintain company documentation and files.
- Strong knowledge of CNC machine tool operations.
- Understanding of safe work practices and machining techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize work independently.
- Ability to work under general supervision.
- Strong record-keeping and documentation skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to interact and coordinate with cross-functional departments.
- Working knowledge of trigonometry as applied to CAD/CAM programming.
- Proficiency in G-Code and canned cycles.
- Knowledge and application of correct SFM, material removal rates, and machining parameters based on material and machine conditions.
- Experience with supporting software and applications associated with CAD/CAM systems.
Experience, Training, and Education:
- Minimum 2-4 years of CNC programming experience using Mastercam, programming CNC mills and lathes in a production environment.
- 2–4 years of experience operating CNC machines in a production setting is preferred.
Pay Range: $35.00 – $40.00 per hour
