Job Description

Volt is hiring for a CNC Programming Technician in the East Orlando AreaThis position is responsible for leading production within the machine shop as well as operating high precision CNC milling machines and lathes to produce production and engineering products for our domestic and international teams.

This is a 1st shift temp to perm position. 

Job Functions/Requirements/Responsibilities:

Primary job functions are listed below but may change without notice.

  • Confers with management to prioritize work and responsibilities within the machine shop.
  • Collaborates with Engineering to produce materials needed for projects.
  • Works with Production to produce materials needed in global facilities.
  • Leads work within machine shop by coaching other employees to maximize quality and throughput.
  • Trains team members on the programming and production of products for engineering and production needs.
  • Monitors progress within the machine shop and makes corrections as needed.
  • Supports other machinists with programming and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Machine parts using Standard and CNC milling machines, lathes, EDM, and OKUMA.
  • Ability to create programs and set-ups.
  • Practice and outwardly support lean manufacturing methods and philosophy.
  • Support and implement 5S techniques as needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Knowledge, Abilities, & Skills Required:

  • Ability to hold extremely tight tolerances.
  • Displays strong skills in organization, cleanliness, and waste reduction.
  • Able to adapt to rapidly changing needs based on engineering project priorities.
  • Ability to create programs and set-ups.
  • Capable of working little to no supervision.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Must be independent worker, self-motivated.
  • Must possess a positive attitude, including the ability to quickly adapt to changes in production requirements.
