Job Description

Volt is seeking Composite Technicians in Assembly for an exclusive direct hire opportunity with our leading Aerospace client! We have an exciting opportunity to join our clients Manufacturing department within the ASI division. This position will be working directly in the lamination room on aircraft parts for our Predator series.

Where is it located? Poway, Ca

What is the pay? I thought you'd never ask... $18-30 / hr DOE

What is the shifts?1st, 2nd, & 3rd

What are the job responsibilities?
 

  • Build to specific dimensions and application of ply's, carbon pre-pregs
  • Build up free from wrinkles, air pockets, and voids
  • Cross train in other areas of Lamination
  • Perform material/part inspection
  • Generate non-conformance, material rejections, and corrective action reports
  • Check expiration dates of materials prior to use
  • Fit and smooth successive layers of materials as necessary following ply directives
  • Conduct Pre and Post Lamination check-list
  • Observe all laws and work in a safe manner
  • Participate in AS 9100 Audits - be prepared to answer auditors' questions

What are the job qualifications?

  • Threw your cap in the air-High School diploma or equivalent + 6 months+ years of related experience.
  • Tool savvy- Must be able to use hand tools, such as rollers, paper cutters, scissors, x-acto knives, electric heat gun and fixtures such as molds and mandrels, band saws, disk sanders, drill press, wood lathe, etc.
  • Able to work in a loud environment; work extended hours as required
  • Lift assemblies weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Blueprint reading
  • Basic mathematical calculations
  • Measuring instruments such as scales and calipers
