Job Description

Volt is looking for experienced Compounding Operators for a growing client in San Antonio!

This position will be responsible for compounding operators to assure proper operation of mixing of metal powders and binders to produce compounded feedstock and inspection of compounded feedstock for the Metal Injection Molding (MIM) process.


  • Blend sheet will be prepared by compounding operator and the prepared blend will be as per the blend sheet. Once the blend is prepared, QC will check the density and viscosity, homogeneity using Pycnometer and Capillary Rheometer.
  • Weigh the Powders and binders as per the Powder/Binder Part Number and the HRMT Number specified in the blend sheet and put them into the Turbula mixer container.
  • Measure and visually inspect the input raw materials to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
  • While restarting the machine or for a new blend preparation, clean each machine and keep ready for new blend/mix preparation. In case of any type of break down during running condition, stop the process and inform supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of machines, raw material and tools, including their process designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Dependability - Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations.
  • High School Diploma, General Education Degree (GED), or equivalent required. 
  • Candidate must successfully complete background check and drug screen
