Job Description

Volt is seeking a Computer Technician I for one of our major government contractor & technology clients in Santa Ana, CA. 

The selected candidate will be working under minimal supervision, providing front-line support to end users for installation; repair and preventative maintenance of personal computers, laptops, and printers. This support may be provided on-site or remotely as needed. The Computer Technician also installs, configures, and troubleshoots desktop systems, workstations, and printers; maintains passwords, data integrity, and file system security for the desktop environment.

This is position is on an estimated 3-month long contract. Relocation assistance is NOT available for this position. Position is subject to U.S. Government Contractor hiring eligibility requirements. No third-party vendors. Pay is commensurate with experience. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair and preventative maintenance of Computers, Laptops and Printers, mobile phones, Kiosks.
  • Workstation patch Management
  • Desktop and application troubleshooting
  • Communicates highly technical information to both technical and non-technical resources
  • Interacts with numerous resolver groups to restore service and/or identify core problems
  • Responsible for maintaining acceptable levels of customer satisfaction according to defined policies.
  • Trains end-users on software packages and standard IT procedures as required
  • Participates in new application roll-outs, testing and special Projects as needed
  • Troubleshoots software and hardware failures
  • Interacts daily with supervisor, peer groups, Service Desk, and customers.

Required KSAOs:

  • A High School Diploma
  • Ability to pass background check
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel
  • Ability to provide support for desktops, laptops, and printer repair.
  • Candidate must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
  • Excellent client-facing skills
  • Excellent planning/time management skills
  • Microsoft Exchange support experience REQUIRED
  • Mobile phone support experience REQUIRED
  • Strong Motivational skills
  • Strong oral/written communication and customer interface skills

Desired KSAOs:

  • Exchange Server support (highly desired)
  • ITIL V3 Foundations certifications
