Job Description

Our world renowned client is seeking a Heavy Construction Estimator to assist with developing bids and assist with controlling costs by reviewing the budgets of projects. The Construction Estimator should have onsite job experience by assessing number of workers involved in a project, necessary supplies, time, cost of transportation and fluctuating market prices into account whenever they are projecting a budget. Industrial estimators also study current projects and products that a company has in play to see if they are making the company a profit or if the company needs to alter its business strategy.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

•     Knowledge of construction contract administration policies, procedures and concepts including change orders and contract amendments.

•     Knowledge of construction cost control, estimating and program management.

•     Knowledge of accounting principles, budgetary principles, forecasting, budget and cost analysis.

•     Proficiency in MS Office Suite and MS Project.

•     Knowledge of engineering project management, including scheduling and estimating.

•     Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.

•     Ability to make sound and independent decisions.

•     Must be willing to support a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

•     Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing and prioritizing.

•     Pre-employment drug screening.

•     Background screening includes previous employment, education and criminal history.

Education and Experience

•     4-year degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Management or a closely related field; or

•     Minimum of 3 years’ experience in cost control of large/complex projects including budget preparation and reporting; or

•     Equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

MUST  have heavy industrial experience and proposal knowledge.
