Call Center - Contact Center Rep (Insurance Company) 

(Claim Intake for Short / Long Term Disability and Paid Family Leave)

$17.50 per hour- 6 months with possible extension

M-F Full Time (40 hours)

Work location: Hillsboro, OR

Our Client is a $2.8B Portland-based provider of financial products.  The company’s offerings include: group and individual disability insurance, group dental and vision insurance, retirement plans products and services, and investment advice.  Established 100 years ago, our Client offers the stability of an established firm with a collegial, high-touch service culture.

Positions are to start November 26th with interviews starting the week of October 29th!

This is a Monday through Friday – Start times can be anywhere from 5am-8am  and would be an 8 hour shift from the selected start time. You must have flexibility to start as early as 5am if requested. 

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

•  Take inbound calls in a call center.

•  Perform claim intake interviews for employees that will last for approximately 10 to 17 minutes per caller.

•  Assist employees with mostly short-term disability claims. However, they will assist people with long-term disability claims from time to time as well.

•  Perform internal status calls. These employees will be starting their short-term and long-term disability claims as well as Paid Family Leave when applicable.

•  Conduct short interviews to collect information.

•  Complete the employee intake part of the claim.

•  Receive around 25 to 35 inbound calls per day.

•  Ask probing questions to screen the calls as you receive them.

•  Fax information to doctors.

•  Send information to employers.

•  Assist the client if possible or transfer them to the appropriate party if need be. 

Contact Center Representative Qualifications:

•  Must have 2+ years of recent experience working in a call center, providing customer service to clients

•  Must type 45+ WPM accurately

•  Ability to navigate multiple computer systems while speaking on the phone.

•  3+ years of excellent customer service experience.

•  Dependability is pertinent when working in a call center. History of good attendance is important for success in this position.

•  Pre-employment screens include a Drug Screen, Background Check and Education Verification.

Soft Skills/Experience:

•  Proven outstanding customer service experience and solid work history required.

Education:

•  High School Diploma or General Education Diploma required

Bonus Experience:

•  Experience working for an Insurance Company and/or with Disability/Medical Claims.
