We are looking to hire 6 Continuous Improvement Specialists  for our Client in the Aerospace industry in Oakville, ON for approximately a period of 6 months with the possibility of extension, through our Company Volt Workforce Solutions Canada.

    Our Client is looking for a high performance, goal oriented, professional to assist with continuous improvement (lean) activity for the next 3-6 months. The position must be on-site each week in Oakville, Ontario, Canada – either living locally or travelling in. 

    Success will be defined by the successful transformation of the production and shared resources cells, and processes, and improvement in the relevant KPI’s. Candidate must be knowledgeable in Lean Production Systems including Time Observations, Product / Process Family definitions, % loading and demand / capacity analysis, Waste Elimination, Cell Design / Layout, Line balancing, Manufacturing Standard Work (Standard Work Sheet, Standard Work Combination Sheet, etc.), WIP Management, line scheduling, Material Presentation / Kitting, etc. with hands-on experience in manufacturing operations (specifically high mix, low volume, mixed model and shared resource environments including machining, special processing, CMM, MRB, and Assembly). Candidate will be participating in Kaizen / project teams and reporting on progress daily. 

    This position will report to the site ACE Manager and take direction from the recovery project lead and team lead for the cell assigned to. 

    *Education / Certifications 
    Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field required 
    MBA or Master’s Degree in an associated discipline a plus 

    *Experience / Qualifications 
    5+ years in Operations/ACE/Lean related roles required 
    Expertise in Lean required 
    Operations/Shop Floor experience required 
    Strong organizational / project management skills required 
    Strong presentation and communication skills required 
    Strong written, verbal communication and data analytical skills required 
    Strong usage of Microsoft office products required 
    IT experience (database, programming) highly desirable 
    SAP knowledge highly desirable 
    Automotive production system experience highly desirable
