Job Description


In the performance of this job function, there shall be strict control of the company confidential information (including, but not limited to, classified information, financial information, intellectual property, employees, products, customers, or competitors) to any external source. Confidential information shared with external parties must be approved in advance by the President.

The Controller is a business professional and must understand the planning and organization within the corporation. As directed by the President, the Controller is responsible for communication, administration, and daily operations of finance activities as well as the following specific responsibilities:

Controller is directly and solely responsible for the following:

  • As directed by Chairman/President, produce accurate financial reports and information on time and in accordance within established deadlines (includes daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual).
  • Ensure tax and government compliance items are addressed correctly and on time. Maintain compliance to other designated government compliance requirements including the following: payroll/HR, US census, 401k, General Insurance and Workers’ Compensation Audits.
  • Generate, and upon approval by the Chairman/President, file all taxes and tax-related activities on time and in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. If authorized by Chairman/President to outsource any tax-related activities, ensure the activity is performed on time and in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Perform continuous review of fixed assets, inventory, accounts receivable, accounts payable and all associated balance sheet items to ensure amounts are properly stated and in compliance with all applicable regulations, GAAP, and corporate requirements. Immediately communicate to Chairman/President any potential or observed deviations to federal/state/local regulations related to finance/control, 401k, or other associated activities.
  • Assume responsibility for and provide the necessary documentation in support of the annual financial statements audit in a timely manner to support distribution of the completed report to Shareholders.
  • Prepare and present as directed by Chairman/President specified information including presentations to employees, customers/visitors, Board of Directors, and Shareholders.
  • Ensure accounting processes are documented and/or updated when changes occur. Ensure continuity of all accounting processes and reports during absences of accounting personnel.
  • Maintain corporate compliance of the 401k plan to applicable regulations. Establish and maintain procedures/processes to ensure compliance with administration of the 401k plan and support the annual compliance audit of the aforementioned 401k plan.
  • Participate in monthly corporate forecast reviews and publish a forecast report following each meeting.
  • Maintain the corporate culture of safety and security on a daily basis for all information and facilities while ensuring the property of the corporation, customers, and suppliers is safeguarded.
  • Perform other duties with flexibility and agility as assigned by Chairman/President in support of corporate activities and/or corporate development which may be related to accounting, strategic efforts, purchasing, human resources, and/or administrative functions. Status updates to Shareholders, Board of Directors, Chairman, and/or President will be required on an as-needed basis.
  • Communicate via email to Chairman/President a report by close of business each Friday regarding the status of Control and Finance operations, issues and recommended solutions, and support needed.


  • This activity requires a strong, hands-on effort and may be supported by one or more associate accountants; managerial and leadership experience is required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of overall corporate functions
  • Competent with Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Ability to multi-task


  • BBA Accounting or related studies
  • CPA in Texas - Preferred 
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with Public and/or Private companies ranging from $20M to $300M revenues
  • Financials/Forecasting/Budgeting/Analysis modelling experience
  • Strong Cost Accounting/Physical Inventory/BOMs experience
  • Supervisory experience but is comfortable being in the details and hands on as well
  • Good financial systems experience; Sage or MAS a plus
