Job Description

Job Purpose

This is a new position within our organization, as we are continuing to grow.  The main responsibility for this position is to monitor and execute credit lines established for current and new customers. This process includes careful analysis, processing new account forms, and communication with Sales Representatives, Clients, and additional third parties.  This person will also be responsible for assuring effective implementation of corporate-wide accounts receivable and collection policies.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for collections of past due items by email, phone, and/or hand written notice
  • Reading and interpretation of financial statements to make sound financial decissions
  • Collect bank & trade references
  • Make credit decisions within assigned authority limits
  • Release orders in a timely manner, once credit is approved
  • Research & reconcile payment discrepancies
  • Understand and analyze credit reports from agencies (DNB or other credit report)
  • Inform sales staff on critical credit decisions
  • Manage a healthy relationship with credit insurance company
  • Practice good problem solving skills and make independent decisions
  • Supervise members of the A/R & Credit/Collection staff
  • Any other duties/responsibilities as assigned by Management

Level of Accountabilities

  • Individual contributor with influence on other members of the A/R & Credit/Collections staff
  • Professional level position with major impact to business, based on decision making

Core Competencies

  • Must have strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of SAP is preferred
  • Requires working with some supervision
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Have a positive attitude & the ability to collaborate with a team
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Requires a thorough understanding of tire industry practices, the organizations need, and general business conditions

Qualification

  • A bachelor's degree required
  • A bachelor's degree relevant to Business Administration, Accounting & Financing preferred
  • Mininum 4 years experience in a corporate Credit and Collection department required
  • General knowledge of accounting & credit/collection in corporate environment required
