Financial Customer Service Representatives - St. Paul

Job expectations include but not limited to:

  • Provide excellent customer service via phone to callers filing claims on insurance and other financial protection products. Claims types include life, disability, unemployment, accidental death, and more.
  • Effectively communicate and empathize with customers during a very difficult time.  Callers are often grieving due to the death of a loved one, disability, or job loss.
  • Utilize communication skills to explain complex claims information in an easily understood manner.
  • Receive and respond to claims inquiries via phone, mail and e-mail.  This includes:
    • Review and input claim information into the CARE and IMS claim systems
    • Obtain additional information as necessary to resolve customer questions and concerns
    • Utilize multiple systems and resources to locate needed information
  • Perform various data entry tasks, such as routing incoming documents to the appropriate claim file.

Hours: Mon-Fri 8:00am-4:45pm

Pay Rate: $16-$17.45/hour


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and professional telephone manner.
  • Ability to empathize appropriately with customers experiencing a loss, while maintaining a professional distance from the customer’s situation.
  • Solid data entry skills, while maintaining outstanding attention to detail.
  • Dedication to providing world class customer service, including the ability to meet performance metrics.
  • Adaptability and the ability to manage several tasks simultaneously during peak work periods.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member.
  • Customer service experience, including telephone experience, preferred.
  • Experience in the insurance or financial services industry preferred.
