Job Description

Acts as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts.

Performs order management activities including acceptance and processing of customer purchase orders, change order management, status requests, customer portal review and management, Return Material Authorizations (RMA’s), Requests for Quotation (RFQ’s), and order file maintenance.

Ability to work under minimal supervision and under direction of the Director of Contracts. 

Aerospace or Manufacturing  customer service and order management experience is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

1.         Receives incoming telephone calls, emails, and other written inquiries for price and delivery, customer order status, RMA status.

2.         Responsible for all customer order management activities for assigned accounts.

3.         Coordinate with other departments to secure performance of the customer’s requirements or other information as requested by customers.

4.         Reviews and processes requests for quotation.  Decides which provisions of request must be brought to the attention of other departments and what exceptions must be made in quote presentation.

5.         Review and process all orders and RMA’s for assigned customers.  Issue customer orders and customer order changes; working internally for scheduling changes and non-standard customer requests.

6.         Negotiates with customer on price and delivery quotations and for price and delivery changes as required.

7.         Decide priority of work to be performed on assigned accounts.  Coordinate with production control in deciding priority of customer needs in areas of schedule problems.

8.         Handles requests of other departments for information or changes as required from our customers.

9.         Working knowledge of general contract and customer order terms and conditions such as Incoterms, Payment Terms, etc.


Education and/or Experience:  

College degree preferred, 3-10 years aerospace customer service experience required.  Manufacturing or Aerospace experience a must.  Must possess excellent organizational skills, experience working within a lean environment preferred. Superior ability to deal with and communicate with people of all levels (customers and employees) in a pleasant and diplomatic manner.  Must have the ability to deal with multiple priorities simultaneously, with high attention to detail.  Ability to understand problems and to apply conceptual thinking.  Must have experience with MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel programs.

Experience with Infor XA (AS400) and Lotus Notes a plus.
