Job Description

Customer Service Representative

A successful Customer Service Rep will understand and have the passion to listen to the voice of the customer and take ownership in all aspects of responding to their customer's business needs.  The anticipated length of time to support this position is approximately six months.  

The ideal candidate will use strong communication and teamwork skills, to build partnerships and deliver exceptional results for new and existing clients. This is not sales related, but solely focused on the customer experience, sales support and results.  

This is in a manufacturing environment and any experience related to claims, customer orders, purchase orders, returns, shipping and order shortages is definitely a plus!

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide customer service support for new or existing orders, returns and products.  
  • Process orders, expedite shipments, and estimate/quote when applicable.
  • Communicate effectively to Production, Quality and Shipping teams to ensure customer orders meet specifications and delivery times.  
  • Supporting other members of the customer service team as well as internal customer support to the sales team as required.
  • Monitor shared email accounts for customer service to ensure timely response to customer inquiries.
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls and visitors.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:                                                                                                                                                   

  • 2-3 years of previous customer service support experience, if this includes working in a manufacturing environment, that is always a plus, but not absolutely required
  • Bachelor's or Associate Degree in related field - desired
  • Accuracy, problem solving and time management skills will be required daily
  • Candidate must be computer savvy and easily adapt to new technologies. Experience with SAP or JD Edwards is a strong plus! 
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with customers, suppliers and associates verbally and through email or written communications. 
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, 
  • Ability to support various tasks from multiple departments, in a very fast-paced environment
