Job Description

Volt is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Technician to support our end users in the deployment and management of our solutions. Solutions may include WSUS, Ivanti, Splunk, Nessus, VMware, Purifile, and SteelCloud. Additionally, technician may be called upon to troubleshoot coding. Chosen candidate will be responsible for maintenance of the support ticket system, creating and maintaining effective service level metrics, and responding to an array of support issues.


The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, avid to pick up additional cyber experience and basic knowledge of coding, operating systems and cyber. He or she must be a self-starter who can work effectively and independently to deliver solutions. A Security+ or CISSP is required, with the CISSP being preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collaborate with entire Cyber Solutions Development Team to ensure the effectiveness of our virtual test environment to thoroughly warrant the efficacy of our cyber solutions. Maintain our service ticket system, provide metrics to leadership and provide level 1 technical support to our end users. Formally document and establish well-defined processes, procedures, remediation and mitigations strategies, and lessons learned for the virtual test environment. Ability to integrate storage, network and backup solutions into virtual environment, Candidates should have experience working with cross-business and cross-functional teams in a geographically distributed environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Advanced knowledge of VMWare ESXi 6.x, and experience/expertise with Windows and Linux operating systems A firm understanding of NIST controls as applied to the Risk Management Framework (RMF).Excellent social, verbal, and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively present analytical data and technical concepts to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences Self-driven and fully accountable for independent effort performed as part of a geographically dispersed virtual team

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Practical experience administering and configuring information systems PowerShell, scripting and coding experience ESXi hardening to NIST 800.53/RMF standards
  • Familiarity with Nessus Tenable, Splunk, Ivanti, SteelCloud, Purifile, and PKI encryption solutions is a plus.

 EDUCATION: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent education / professional experience
  • 4+ years of experience in management of virtual environments
  • Security+ or CISSP certification (CISSP is preferred)
  • VMWare Certified Professional (preferred).
