Job Description

As a Data Center Technician, you will be on the front-line, focusing on the physical health of data center

equipment including servers, network devices, and the site itself. You’re also the gatekeeper of assets entering and leaving the data center and you’ll maintain the site inventory.As a Data Center Technician, you will turn metal husks into servers that deliver rock-solid service to gamers around the world. You will occasionally travel to other facilities to drive projects including building a new data center from scratch, tearing down an old one, and everything in between. Staying abreast of the latest and greatest in server tech will be crucial to maintaining and improving game stability and up time. If servers go on the fritz or need a tune-up, you’ll be the go-to guru for data center solutions. Data Center Technicians on the Infrastructure Platform team are responsible for the layer 1 operations data centers within a particular facility or set of facilities. You will work alongside a passionate team of software and infrastructure engineers. We combine strong expertise in networking, systems, and DevOps. Our aim is to automate and improve the way we store, process, and distribute data for our ever expanding player base.



  • Carry data center design concepts through the exploration, development, deployment, and mass production phases 25%
  • Provide remote support for end-users, architects, engineers, and contractors; remotely troubleshoot and fix systems to maintain server stability 50%
  • Work with Linux and Windows servers, assisting in the maintenance of drives, memory and more 10%
  • Produce analyses that ensure data centers are meeting performance and power management targets 10%
  • Travel to data centers and assist with engineering evaluations, electrical systems audits, startup testing, and launches; be responsible for everything from the physical installation of server hardware to ensuring power cabling is up to code 5%


  • 2+ years of planning, deploying, modifying, and operating server/network/storage/cabling architecture at data centers.
  • Strong organization skills including producing meticulous cabling, detailed documentation, and experienced at keeping an orderly data center
  • Experience using device management tools including DRAC, iLO, and power management software to remotely keep Windows and Linux servers operational
  • Basic knowledge of TCP/IP and various internet servers (DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, FTP, NNTP,
  • SNMP)
  • Comfortable working by yourself for extended periods and also as part of a team to solve problems that crop up during complex projects
  • Physical Requirements: ability to climb ladders, work under raised floors, deal with hot and cold temperature environments, maneuver pallet jacks, and lift up to 50lbs.

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field required. Commensurate work experience plus GED or High School Diploma will be considered in place of education.
