Job Description

Volt Workforce Solutions is hiring for a Distribution Center Trainer. This is a full time role with comprehensive medical benefits effective first day. 

Summary
Responsible for identifying, developing, implementing and effectively running a consistent training program for the distribution center to ensure the highest productivity, and efficiency to align with business objectives  

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Map out training plans, design and develop training programs
  • Format training documents and create reports utilizing formulas and charts
  • Write training and certification documents in alignment with the company's requirements
  • Conduct training (ex. new hire safety training, OSHA forklift certifications, on-the-job training)
  • Track training, provide leadership with status updates for the department
  • Conduct area needs assessments (sustain audits) and evaluate training deficiencies
  • Create training program visual aids (presentations) for large training classes
  • Ability to complete training cycle (asses, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor, evaluate, improve, report)
  • Develop and continuously improve the complete training system (some examples: standard operating procedures, work instructions, job guides, standard work, 5S, check lists, daily flash, etc…)
  • Provide train-the-trainer sessions and perform every training task
  • Maintain electronic training databases for tracking and reporting
  • Ensure procedures reinforce a safe culture
  • Other duties as assigned
     

Skill Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • 2+ Years of Distribution (or relevant) experience
  • Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Ability to operate equipment including RF scanner
  • Forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment
  • Superior communication skills (training and presentations)
  • Ability to create formulas, charts, graphs and other reporting metrics
  • Must be able to flex hours between shifts to facilitate training coverage
  • Ability to take feedback from all levels and focus it in a constructive professional
    manner
  • Excellent leadership skills, leading by example
  • Strong ability to work with others
  • Familiarity with LEAN improvement tools
  • Speak and write fluently in English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP
  • Associates degree in related field
